My last inland trout fishing of the year. I fished Big Green. It was slow for the first few hours.
I caught only one small brown by prince nymph. I met a local fly fisherman. He told me grasshopper worked.
I moved to the downstream and found a nice pool. I could see many trout on the bottom of the water.
Yes, grasshopper worked. I hooked several nice brown but could not set tightly. I missed them.
I thought my fly rod was too soft. I should have brought a fast action rod. Finally, I caught a nice brown by grasshopper.
